In this video, Mother Chrysovalanti tells us an example of why we should never make a deal with the devil: “Whatever the sorcerer asked from the devil, the devil did it for him. A few years passed and he says to the devil, ‘Devil, I would like to become a Minister.'”

Mother Chrysovalanti:
So, a sorcerer made a deal with the devil. He said, “I’ll do whatever you say to me, and whatever I ask of you, you’ll do it for me.” “Deal,” said the devil. He was satisfied. Whatever the sorcerer asked from the devil, the devil did it for him. A few years passed and he says to the devil, “Devil, I would like to become a Minister.” “It’s not easily done, but we’ll see.” “Here is what we’ll do.” “I’ll get in the queen’s ear and she’ll be in terrible pain.” “They’ll get the best doctors of the world, but they won’t be able to make her well.” “Then, you’ll show up after a long time and say, ‘I know how to make her well.’” “You’ll place your hand on the ear,” “as soon as you do it, I’ll leave,” “the girl will no longer be in pain” “and the king will say, ‘You saved my child. What do you want me to do for you?’” “Ask him to make you a Minister.” The devil has a 2,000-year-old IQ.
So it happened. The demon left. The king said, “I’m obliged, what do you want me to do for you?” “Minister!” He made him a Minister. He was having a good time, he was satisfied, he thanked the devil for doing him all the favors. Soon, however, a coup d’état takes place and they gather all Ministers to hang them. Him included. He was carefree. He thought, “Devil ‘saved’ me from so many things.” “Much more so now [that I am in greater danger].” So, he was walking untroubled. But, as soon as he reached the gallows and they placed the rope around his neck, he exploded, “Devil, are you not seeing what’s going on? They are about to drown me!” So, the devil shows up with a bag on his shoulder [and] he empties it in front of him. Inside there were many faded shoes. [The devil says], “I ruined all these to get you right where you are [at this moment] and you ask me to save you [now]?” “See you!”
This is who the devil is. He deceives us… Some young people tell me and my soul burns [because of it]: “Gerondissa, youth is to party and sin!” “My child, to party, to have fun, but not to sin.” “Because if you sin, you lose both this life and the next!” They can’t understand it, they can’t…
