In this profound video, Archbishop Christophoros from Jordan delves into the very heart of Orthodox Christianity, unraveling its core essence. Archbishop Christophoros passionately expounds on the road to Golgotha, the way of the Cross, the narrow and often challenging path that Jesus explicitly spoke of, distinct from the wider, easier route. He urges us to grasp that this narrow path is the true route to the Heavenly Kingdom. In a thought-provoking contrast to our modern civilization’s pursuit of comfort, Archbishop Christophoros challenges the prevalent ethos of seeking more comfort. He posits that while contemporary culture endeavors to make human lives increasingly comfortable, this quest inadvertently leads to a form of enslavement. Through this video, Archbishop Christophoros prompts us to reevaluate our values and priorities, encouraging a deeper understanding of Christianity’s profound teachings about true freedom and our purpose as children of God. Met. Christophoros:
We should show them through our life that Christ is alive and if we died, we will live with Christ.
Because He called us to eternal life. And through His death, He conquered death and gave us eternal life.
Christianity is not a religion like other religions. But it’s the truth and the life revealed to us by the Incarnated God.
That’s why all religions tried confronting death, to break through the barrier of death and reach immortality. But none of the religions on this planet throughout the centuries and generations could do that until Jesus Christ came. And He didn’t give Christianity as a religion. He revealed the truth from Heaven.
God Himself was incarnated and taught us and revealed to us. And through His death, He conquered death and gave us eternal life. And He taught us the way. He showed us the way to eternal life. What road is it? It is the way to Golgotha, the way of the Cross, the narrow road that Jesus spoke about, not the wide road. We must realize that the narrow road leads to the Heavenly Kingdom.
And this is opposite to our modern civilization which is trying to give more and more comfort to humans. Everything our culture is doing is for humans to be more comfortable. But the more the man is comfortable the more he becomes a slave.
While Christ wants us free people. He wants us loving children of God.
And love, my children, requires giving and sacrificing.
