One day, a Brother who had decided to visit a Father in Kapsala [Mount Athos] was thinking, “What should I bring him as a blessing?” He acquired two fish and went to clean them so he could take them to the Father. In the meantime, the Father who had been informed by God of the Brother’s visit was thinking, “What can I offer him when he comes?” As the Brother was cleaning the fish, a crow suddenly swooped down, snatched one fish and brought it to the other Brother in Kapsala – a walk of five and a half hours away. Do you understand? Each one was thinking of how to bring comfort to the other, and the crow served as the go-between!
