Last night, as I was going to church for the vigil, I noticed in a corner a father with a child in a wheelchair. I approached the child, hugged him and kissed him. “You are an angel,” I told him, “do you know it?” And to the father I said, “It is a great honor for you to be serving an angel. Be joyful for this, for both of you will have a place in Paradise.” Their faces lit up with joy, for they felt a divine consolation. Those who minister to the sick and disabled with love and patience will erase the record of their sins with the sacrifice they are making; and if they do not have sins, they are being sanctified.
